Summer is here, and with it come outdoor movies. There are outdoor cinemas all over NYC, and one of the more prominent ones is the Monday Night Movie in Bryant Park, smak in the middle of Midtown Manhattan. Although I didn’t stay for the entire presentation of Alfred Hitchcocks’s “Psycho” last night, I had a great time eating and hanging out with friends. Here’s a panorama from the middle of the crowd. Screen on one side of the park, NY Public Library on the other side, midtown Manhattan buildings looming over. They did turn off the bright lights shining down once the movie started. Quite a spectacular scene.
Movies are played in Bryant Park every Monday during the summer as part of the HBO Bryant Park Summer Film Festival. Additionally, GoWatchIt provides a comprehensive listing of all NYC outdoor movies.
